Everton v Leicester: Lukaku and Vardy to shine at Goodison

Published:

The Premier League’s most entertaining fixture this weekend could well come at Goodison Park, where Everton host Leicester.

And there’s no argument about it, right now Leicester are the form team.

The reigning champions have won five straight games under Craig Shakespeare, while the Toffees have claimed just one victory in that spell.

But that’s not enough to convince our traders, who make Ronald Koeman’s side 8/11 favourites.

It makes Leicester all the more appealing then to find them priced up at 15/4.

Similarly, we’re a tempting 7/1 on Leicester to win and both teams to score, with 12/5 on Everton prevailing in a goal-fest.

The two teams are each averaging 2.8 goals in their games this season, so backing over 2.5 goals at 8/11 looks a smart move.

And, with the Foxes scoring 13 times in five games plus Everton netting in 26 of their 31 fixtures, Both Teams to Score is also worth a look, again at 8/11.

Romelu Lukaku has endured a tough time of it in recent days, being kept quiet by both Liverpool and Manchester United.

So the Belgian may well fancy his chances of bouncing back here, with Leicester keeping just one clean sheet away from home.

Lukaku leads the first goalscorer betting at 3/1, with Kevin Mirallas next up at 5s.

But it’s Leicester’s Jamie Vardy who will be the in-form striker on show at Goodison.

The England international has scored five goals – in addition to two assists – in his last five games, including a stunning volley against Stoke last weekend.

And with the former Fleetwood Town man chalked up at 7/1 to score first and 9/4 anytime, we reckon Vardy is great value this weekend.
