We’ve made some big calls in our Arsenal-Man City Ultimate XI

Arsenal and Manchester City will meet at Wembley Stadium in the second Emirates FA Cup semi-final of the weekend on Sunday afternoon.

While all eyes will be on Chelsea v Tottenham Hotspur today and how that intriguing affair will pan out, tomorrow’s clash will be completely different, and it doesn’t take a genius to predict plenty of goals being scored.

But who makes the Ultimate XI between these two sides? We’ve had our say below, and we’d love to hear what you think!

GK – Petr Cech

This spot was only ever going to go to one person. In fairness, not many Premier League goalkeepers would get ahead of the Arsenal ace as far as we’re concerned.

A huge presence in between the sticks who knows the game inside out, he’d probably be everyone’s ideal choice over Claudio Bravo.

RB – Hector Bellerin

The former Barcelona youth product is fast establishing himself as one of the best right-backs in world football, while City are struggling in this department as Pep Guardiola chops and changes between formations in an attempt to find a winning formula.

Throw in the fact that the City boss has also been linked with a move for the Arsenal youngster, and it speaks volumes.

CB – Vincent Kompany & Laurent Koscielny

They’ve undoubtedly been two of the best centre halves in modern Premier League history, and have both played a huge part in recent successes for their respective clubs.

Granted, Kompany has struggled with injuries this campaign while Koscielny is finding it hard put in the kind of performances we’ve becomed accustomed to from the France international in recent seasons.

But on their day, the two men are simply unbreakable – we’d trust them with our lives.

LB – Gael Clichy

Clichy just edges this one for us – but as the best of a relatively mediocre bunch. Behind him comes Aleksandar Kolarov, Nacho Monreal and Kieran Gibbs.

Kolarov’s best years have long gone, while Gibbs is struggling to get ahead of Monreal – who is a close second to our pick – in Wenger’s plans.

But for his all-round play, Clichy wins it for us.

CM – Fernandinho & Yaya Toure

Arsenal are still struggling to find the perfect balance in the middle of the park. Injuries and suspensions have once again played a huge part in their season, meaning we still don’t really know who Wenger’s first-choice pairing are.

With that in mind, we’re going with the City pair who boast everything required of top central midfielders.

Tough to knock off the ball, full of energy, excellent defensively and dangerous going forward with plenty of experience, Fernandinho and Toure have to be in this side ahead of the likes of Francis Coquelin, Granit Xhaka, Mohamed Elneny and Aaron Ramsey.

RW – Leroy Sane

The German youngster has really impressed us this season, and gets the nod ahead of his teammate Raheem Sterling on the right of this XI.

The 21-year-old arrived at the Etihad for a fee of £42.5m last summer but would’ve been forgiven for taking a year or so to adapt to the Premier League.

However, 30 games, nine goals and four assists later – it’s fair to say the former Schalke ace is well and truly settled.

LW – Alexis Sanchez

Simply put, Sanchez would get into any side in the Premier League right now, while there’s only a couple of clubs in Europe who’d turn him away.

His third year in English football has brought about more of the same from the former Barcelona man – incredible goals, remarkable skills and serious determination.

He’s been linked with a move away from the Emirates when the transfer window opens in the summer, but the Gunners should do everything in their power to not only keep the 28-year-old but to build the team around him.

CAM – Mesut Ozil

This was arguably the toughest call we had to make in this combined XI, but Ozil just edges it over Kevin de Bruyne.

On their day, both are simply stunning to watch, but they each have a tendency to disappear at patches throughout the season.

However, if we’re putting together the cream of the crop, then we reckon Ozil’s creativity and vision will be of greater use in this side. He’d get more out of this team than De Bruyne would, as far as we’re concerned.

ST – Sergio Aguero

Who else was it going to be?

119 Premier League goals in 176 games says it all. It’ll be a sad day in the blue half of Manchester when the Argentine eventually calls time on his career with the Citizens.

He’s undoubtedly in the top 10 greatest Premier League strikers of all-time, while there’s an argument for him being amongst the top five.

No other player available to both sides comes near to taking this spot from Aguero, and it’s frightening to think what he’d achieve with the service of this combined XI behind him.
