Which Manchester United ace is priced up for shock summer exit?

| 19.04.2017

Juan Mata has arguably been Manchester United’s best signing since Sir Alex Ferguson’s departure back in 2013. But the latest reports are suggesting the Spain international could be heading for a shock summer exit.

And our odds back up those claims.

Seemingly out of nowhere, Besiktas have emerged as frontrunners to land a deal for the 28-year-old, and we make it just a 3/1 shot that the former Chelsea and Valencia ace signs for the Turkish outfit when the transfer window opens.

Ex-United boss David Moyes signed Mata from current manager Jose Mourinho back in January 2014, with the Portuguese gaffer deeming the forward surplus to requirements at Stamford Bridge.

However, he’s rediscovered his fine form since making the £38m switch to Old Trafford three years ago, scoring 36 goals and assisting 26 for the Red Devils in all competitions.

And that’s apparently caught the eye of United’s Europa League rivals, who are reportedly ready to launch a summer bid in their quest to establish themselves in the Champions League next season.

Currently on course for a second successive Super Lig title, Besiktas have history of doing business with the Premier League’s big boys – signing Demba Ba from Chelsea back in 2014.

Despite featuring 22 times in the Premier League for Man United this season, it’s thought the Spaniard will fall down the pecking order should Mourinho add more attacking talent to his ranks in the summer.

And it seems as though that’s something he isn’t all too keen on doing, opening the door for a potential exit when the season comes to an end.
