Aberdeen v Celtic: Bhoys face final hurdle as unbeaten year looms

Published:
Brendan Rodgers - Celtic manager

Celtic are just three games away from completing a historic unbeaten season, but their biggest challenge awaits tonight when they head to Aberdeen.

Brendan Rodgers’ men wrapped up the Ladbrokes Premiership long ago, but the lure of an invincible campaign still holds true for the Bhoys.

And with a Scottish Cup final versus Aberdeen still to come too, Celtic will want to maintain all the momentum they can.

There’s plenty at stake here for the Dons too though. Derek McInnes’ men would sorely love to end the Hoops’ unbeaten streak, and similarly, enhance their own chances for the cup final at Hampden.

But the odds firmly point to the Bhoys’ beating the Dons for the fifth time this term at 3/4.

That leaves Aberdeen out at 15/4, and McInnes’ side have lost their last two at Pittodrie, failing to score in either.

And given that they’ve also failed to score in three meetings with Celtic this season, backing No on Both Teams to Score looks good at 23/20.

Similarly, if you fancy Celtic to repeat their 3-0 and 4-1 successes from earlier this season, they’re 19/10 on the -1 handicap and 5/1 -2.

Rodgers’ has started Leigh Griffiths for Celtic’s last two games, and the Scottish forward is 16/5 favourite to score first.

But the form man right now is Patrick Roberts.

The former Fulham winger has bagged four goals and six assists in his last six league games – including a brace last time out versus St Johnstone.

We’re 13/2 on the 20-year-old to score first, and 2/1 to bag a 10th goal of the season anytime.

And we haven’t forgotten the man who loves this fixture – Tom Rogic.

The midfielder has already scored three times versus Aberdeen this season, including the away win in October and the opening goal in the League Cup Final.

We’re 7/1 on Rogic scoring first here, with 21/10 for him to continue his incredible Dons’ streak anytime.
