Well that was awkward. Alex Bruce may have just found out his future at Hull City… via a tweet from the club’s official page.

The Tigers announced this morning that the defender headed a list of players set to move on when their contracts expire at the end of the season.

To be fair to the 32-year-old, he seemed to take it quite well…

But what next for the former Manchester United youth product?

Well, our traders make it just a 6/4 shot that Bruce teams up with his Dad at Aston Villa this summer.

It would hardly be a surprise, either. Steve Bruce has signed his son on two previous occasions – and he’s no stranger to the Midlands, having played for Birmingham City and Leicester City in his career.

Granted, signing Bruce would hardly guarantee Villa promotion back to the Premier League. But it’d do the Villans no harm in having such an experienced head around the first-team.

Perhaps we’re reading too much into things on social media, but as far as we’re concerned, Bruce will almost certainly be looking for a new club as of… well, now!
