Burnley ace Evens for Newcastle move; 5/4 to join this summer

Newcastle United are gearing up for life back in the big time, having lifted the Championship title. And the Magpies could be set for a big boost ahead of that campaign, with the club firm favourites to sign Burnley striker Andre Gray.

The 25-year-old is just even-money to make St James’ Park his next home, while it’s 5/4 that he makes the move as soon as this summer.

Gray impressed for the Clarets in the 2016-17 campaign, netting nine times in 32 Premier League outings, including goals against Liverpool and Arsenal.

And he’s certainly no flash in the pan, having chalked up 25 goals in the Championship during the prior season.

Those displays mean Sean Dyche will find his prize forward hard to retain, and though the Magpies are firm favourites for his signature, they’re not the only club who can lure him away from Turf Moor.

Tottenham are 4/1 second in the betting to sign the Wolverhampton native, with West Ham United 13/2 shots, and Southampton 8/1 to secure his signature.

They’re followed in the running by West Bromwich Albion. (9/1), with Leicester City (10/1) and Swansea City (14s) rounding out the betting.

A Ladbrokes spokesperson said: “There could be a Gray day on the horizon for Clarets fans this summer, with Newcastle leading the race to poach their ace striker.”
