Real Madrid odds-on favourites for Champions League – Juventus evens

The Champions League semi-final first-legs promised much, but in truth, Real Madrid and Juventus were just far too good for their opponents.
A Cristiano Ronaldo hat-trick ensured city rivals Atletico were beaten 3-0 at the Bernabeu, while a Gonzalo Higuain double did for Monaco in France.
And our traders have reacted accordingly, by making Real 5/6 favourites to retain their crown.
Juve are second in the running at Evens.
It leaves each of Atletico and Monaco all-but out of contention at 40/1 apiece.
One of Real or Juventus have appeared in each of the last three Champions League finals, and have clashed in two of the last four seasons.
But this will – if they both progress – be the second time they have met in a final.
The two clashed in Amsterdam to contest the 1997-1998 edition, where Real prevailed 1-0 thanks to Pedrag Mijatovic’s second-half effort.
Atletico are 6/4 to win the second leg, but they need to win at least 3-0 to progress, which, at 28/1, looks unlikely.
