Barcelona and Man City frontrunners for Southampton’s Euros winner

| 28.06.2017

Southampton could be set to see another of their biggest talents head elsewhere this summer, with four heavyweights – including a Premier League pair – in the running to sign right-back Cedric Soares.

Barcelona are 3/1 favourites for the 25-year-old defender, who impressed for the South Coast club last term, helping them to 13 clean sheets in his 30 Premier League outings, as well as chalking up three assists.

But Blaugrana are closely followed in the betting by Manchester City at 4/1, with Pep Guardiola keen to find a long-term replacement for the outgoing Bacary Sagna.

A move to the Etihad could definitely prove tempting for the Singen native, not least because it would offer a reunion with Bernardo Silva – Cedric’s regular partner on the right flank for national side Portugal.

Next up are fellow North-West outfit Everton, with 7/1 about Ronald Koeman reuniting with the man he brought to English football from Sporting Lisbon back in 2015.

Juventus round out the betting at 12/1 to sign the classy defender, though with a top-class right-back already at the club in the form of Stephan Lichtsteiner, we’d be surprised to see them splash out the required £15m to secure the signature of Cedric.
