Big four flounder at Erin Hills as Fowler leads the US Open

Before a ball was hit, the big four of Dustin Johnson, Jason Day, Rory McIlroy and Jordan Spieth dominated the US Open betting.
But take a look at the odds after day one and the quartet are nowhere to be found.
Between them they shot +17 on a dismal day at Erin Hills, with Day seven over and Rory only one shot better off.
Things are slightly better in the DJ and Spieth camps.
Pre-tournament favourite Johnson is a 33/1 fancy after shooting a 75 yesterday, while Spieth is two shots up the road at 25/1.
It’s certainly within reason that either or both of the pair could yet come forward through the weekend.
They’ll need to catch Rickie Fowler though, who enjoyed a perfect start to the 117th US Open.
The 28-year-old is still seeking his first Major, but has been in arguably the most consistent form of his life this year.
He featured strongly for much of the Masters too, and the American picked up seven birdies in a bogey-free first round to lead by one.
Fowler is now outright favourite at 16/5.
Behind him is England’s Paul Casey at 5/1, who has continued the fine form shown over the past two months.
Few would have guessed who Casey shared second with overnight however. American Xander Schauffele only turned professional two years ago.
The 23-year-old was 500/1 shot, but a fine six-under has seen his odds slashed to 33/1.
Brooks Koepka sits joint third on five-under, and is now third-favourite at 9/1.
Tommy Fleetwood posted the same score and is now into 28/1 from 125/1.
