Forget van Dijk…Liverpool favourites for another Southampton ace

They may not get hold of Virgil van Dijk this summer, but Liverpool could snag a Southampton star once again, with the Reds 7/4 favourites to sign Dusan Tadic.

The winger impressed last season, chalking up three goals and eight assists for the Saints amidst a string of classy displays. Once again, that’s attracted interest from Merseyside, with Jurgen Klopp reportedly ready to splash out £13m on the player.

But the Anfield outfit aren’t the only club in their city who like the Backa Topola native.

Everton are second-favourites for the Serbian’s signature at 4/1, with Toffees boss Ronald Koeman having made the 28-year-old his first signing as Southampton manager back in 2014.

However, if he doesn’t head to Merseyside, the former Twente man could make Manchester his new home. Manchester City are 6/1 shots to secure Tadic’s signature, with their local rivals Man United also dark horses at 8s.

Arsenal and Inter Milan round out the betting at 10/1 apiece. Both clubs had been strongly linked with a move for the wing wizard earlier in the year, but with interest having cooled in both North London and Italy, a move to either now looks unlikely.

A Ladbrokes spokesperson said: “These two clubs may have quarrelled over Virgil van Dijk, but now it seems the Reds and the Saints could be set to call a truce and do business again this summer.”
