Newcastle United and West Brom favourites for Man City’s Delph
Published:
It’s pretty clear now that Pep Guardiola is putting his stamp on things at Manchester City this summer, and that probably means the end for Fabian Delph.
The midfielder made 13 appearances for the Citizens last season, but was left out of the squad for each of the club’s final seven league games.
Delph is only two years into a five-year deal, having joined City from Aston Villa in 2015.
But with a valuation of less than £7m by transfermarkt.co.uk, it seems the England international is readily affordable.
He’ll bring a handy dose of experience too, with over 130 Premier League appearances to his name.
We make Newcastle United 5/2 favourites to sign the Bradford-born player, as Rafael Benitez sets about preparing the Magpies for Premier League football.
But West Brom could be good value to sign the 27-year-old at 7/2.
Delph spent six years in the Midlands while with Aston Villa, and it’s widely believed the Baggies are out to bring in new faces this summer, particularly those the right side of 30.
Burnley are next up at 5/1, and Delph could be an ideal signing for the Clarets, who continue to be a tightly-run ship.
The odds then drift quite noticeably, with Celtic out at 10/1.
West Ham United and Delph’s former side Aston Villa are 16/1.
