Odds slashed on Pellegrini taking Crystal Palace vacancy

Manuel Pellegrini could be set for a Premier League return with Crystal Palace, according to the latest odds.

The former Manchester City boss has reportedly been approached by Palace officials and the bookies are taking no chances – slashing his odds from 8/1 to just 2/1 in a matter of hours.

That means he’s now second-favourite for the post, behind Mauricio Pellegrino (Evens).

And despite being as short as 1/5 last week, Burnley boss Sean Dyche is now 3/1 to make the move to Selhurst Park.

Alex Apati of Ladbrokes said: “Rumoured talks with Pellegrini have blown this market wide open.

“Last week it looked set to be Dyche’s to lose, but our traders now reckon as many as four names are in with a genuine chance of getting the job.”

Frank de Boer is a 4/1 shot, and the quartet dominate the betting.

All other contenders are now 16/1 or longer.
