Tottenham linked with double swoop for AC Milan and Schalke stars

Tottenham Hotspur have been relatively quiet in the transfer market, but that could be about to change.
After being linked with Fiorentina’s Matias Vecino earlier this week, Spurs are reportedly also looking at AC Milan’s Suso and Schalke’s Max Meyer.
The pair would all quality and depth to Tottenham’s attacking midfield, and that could prove key as they look to take on the Champions League this season.
And with Erik Lamela set to miss the early part of the campaign as he returns from hip surgery, Mauricio Pochettino could use some extra numbers.
Suso enjoyed a fine campaign for AC last term, scoring seven goals and providing nine assists in Serie A.
His contract only has another two years to run, and at 23-years-old, he should be entering his peak in the coming seasons.
Milan’s new owners may well want to keep him, but for the time being they cannot offer the Spanish international Champions League football, while Tottenham can.
As for Meyer, The Sun claim Spurs are eyeing up a £17.5m deal for the highly-rated 21-year-old.
Already a German international, Meyer has made over 160 senior appearances for Schalke, scoring 20 times.
Plus, Meyer boasts a range of tactical options, being capable on either flank, as a central attacking midfielder, and as a centre forward or second striker.
But his contract expires in 12 months’ time, and after a mediocre 10th-place finish for Schalke last term, both player and club may feel the time is right to cash in and move on.
