Could Leeds United top scorer be set for Swansea City move?
Published:
Star Leeds United striker Chris Wood could be on his way to the Premier League, if reports are to be believed.
The New Zealand star enjoyed a fruitful campaign last time out, scoring 27 goals to end the season as the Championship’s top scorer.
But it now appears that his time at Elland Road could be coming to an end.
The 25-year-old would no doubt welcome Premier League football in anticipation for his starring role with New Zealand, should the country qualify for the 2018 World Cup.
And with Fernando Llorente’s future at the Liberty Stadium still uncertain, manager Paul Clement is in the market for another striker.
With that in mind our traders have priced up the 6ft 3in menace at 5/2 to move to the Swans.
The Jacks will not be without competition though, with Huddersfield Town also keen on the Leeds number nine.
Manager David Wagner has been splashing the cash in anticipation of the Terriers’ first top-flight campaign since 1972, and the Kiwi frontman would add an extra dimension up front.
We make the Yorkshire club a handy 9/1 to capture Wood – an especially generous price given that the 52-cap international has been linked with a move to the John Smith’s Stadium throughout the summer.
A number of other clubs are also in the race with Stoke City (5/1), Southampton (9/2) and Middlesbrough (6/1) all interested.

Swansea City – 5/2
Stoke – 5/1
Middlesbrough – 6/1
West Brom – 7/1
