Lukaku to Man United? Odds cut on Belgian making mega-money move

Manchester United could be set to swoop in and steal Romelu Lukaku from under Chelsea’s nose.

The Everton front-man had been seemingly destined to rejoin the Blues, but as of yet no deal has materialised.

Diego Costa remains at Stamford Bridge, and as long as the Spaniard does so, it seems unlikely they’ll be able to bring in the Belgian.

That’s not a problem for Man United, where Jose Mourinho is looking for someone to succeed Zlatan Ibrahimovic.

Real Madrid’s Alvaro Morata has been heavily linked with a move to Old Trafford, but again, no deal has yet to come to fruition.

And now the press believe United are turning their attention to Lukaku, who hit a personal best 25 Premier League goals last season.

There’s certainly plenty of logic to suggest a deal could be done.

Lukaku’s agent is Mino Raiola, the man who engineered all of Paul Pogba, Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Zlatan’s moves to Old Trafford last summer.

Wayne Rooney could further smoothen the deal by going the other way.

Little wonder then that our traders have decided to cut the odds on United getting the 23-year-old hotshot, from 9/4 to 11/8.

Chelsea remain favourites, but these latest reports are the latest concern that all is not well at the reigning champions, who are yet to make any significant summer signings.
