Newcastle, Burnley & West Ham lead chase for Brentford ace Jota

It may not be one of the headline moves of the summer, but Brentford’s Jota is poised for his first taste of Premier League football.

The Spaniard has been left out of the Bees’ upcoming friendly with Aldershot, with a bid from a top tier club believed to be imminent.

A whole host of clubs are reportedly in the hunt, with Newcastle United 5/2 favourites to land the talented winger.

The Magpies could use a signing or two, having made just a pair of deals so far this summer.

Jota would certainly bring some attacking flair to Tyneside, having shone for Brentford in the second half of last season.

After spending the first part of the campaign on loan at La Liga outfit Eibar, Jota returned to West London in January.

And in just 21 appearances the 26-year-old netted 12 goals and supplied five assists.

It was no coincidence that the Bees, 15th before Jota returned, ended the campaign 10th.

But the forward’s contract is up in 12 months’ time, leaving the Championship side facing him going for nothing next year.

It’s 7/2 Jota heads to Burnley, with West Ham United 4/1 shots.

Huddersfield Town are 9/2 to add the former Celta Vigo man to their ever-growing roster, with fellow Premier League debutants Brighton & Hove Albion chalked up at 6/1.

Southampton and Stoke City complete the market at 10/1 and 14/1 respectively.
