Everton ace Ross Barkley now 2/1 for Chelsea switch

Chelsea betting news

Ross Barkley could be set for a dramatic switch to Stamford Bridge after Chelsea declared their interest in the England star.

Everton manager Ronald Koeman made clear last month that he 100% expects the 23-year-old to leave Goodison Park this summer.

Barkley’s proposed destination has been up in the air for some time.

Tottenham Hotspur have remained the frontrunners at 4/6, but now Chelsea have emerged as contenders.

Last we month we had the Blues at 7/1 to nab the Mersey man, but our traders have reacted to the rumours and brought him in to 2/1.

Boss Antonio Conte reportedly wants to recruit more homegrown English players to his squad and Barkley fits the bill perfectly.

The 6ft 2in ace would provide good competition for an already packed roster of established stars.

And then there’s the added carrot of joining the league champions.

What’s more, the West Londoners have form for snatching big name players from under the noses of their North London rivals.

Remember Willian in 2013?

Plus, Conte would no doubt relish the challenge of getting Barkley to fulfil his potential, as he has done with current Chelsea stars Victor Moses and Marcos Alonso.

Several other clubs also remain interested in the ex-Leeds United loanee.

Arsenal remain third favourites at 5/1, while we have a switch abroad to AC Milan available at a tempting 20/1.
