Oxford punter puts £100k on Mayweather to beat McGregor

A man from Oxfordshire has wagered £100,000 on Floyd Mayweather emerging victorious this weekend.

The customer, who wishes to remain anonymous, placed two separate wagers – one bet of £50,000 at odds of 2/7 and a second bet of £50,000 at 1/4 – on the American boxer winning the newly created Money Belt against Conor McGregor.

3/1 is the price on offer for McGregor to land the spoils, and it’s a 10/3 shot he wins by KO.

However, it’s also only 7/1 that he finds himself disqualified.

Jessica Bridge of Ladbrokes said: “The big boys are really coming out to play now, and they’re finding the ‘generous’ odds on Mayweather hard to resist the closer we edge towards the fight.”

She added: “However, every man and his dog still want to be on McGregor and the money is flying in left, right and centre on the biggest bout of all-time.”
