Big night of British boxing headlined by Paul Butler v Stuart Hall

An interesting night of domestic boxing awaits in Liverpool on Saturday evening as Paul Butler and Stuart Hall headline at the Echo Arena.
Elsewhere, Rocky Fielding defends his British title against David Brophy and Ohara Davies clashes with Tom Farrell.
There’s also a local grudge match between Merseyside duo Sean Dodd and Thomas Stalker.
We take a closer look at three of the big match-ups.
Butler v Hall
This bantamweight clash is a rematch of the original fight from 2014. This one is a world title eliminator with the winner getting a possible shot at WBA champ, Jamie McDonnell.
Butler – 1/6 favourite here – won a tight contest on points three years ago, pinching Hall’s IBF strap.
The now 27-year-old has reportedly had a difficult camp in preparation for this bout but remains ultra-confident.
This will be Hall’s last tilt at a major title. And he’s 4/1 to do so.
The 37-year-old Darlington brawler will have to go into the lion’s den to win it.
Fielding v Brophy
Rocky Fielding makes his first defence of the British super middleweight against Scotland’s David Brophy.
Fielding comes into this as strong 1/3 favourite. The local fighter has just one career loss to date, to Callum Smith.
Caldercruix’s Brophy is the current Commonwealth champion, and also has just one loss on his record against George Groves.
This should be a fascinating battle with Brophy at an appealing 9/4.
He may be fighting on Fielding’s home turf but arguably has more pedigree considering his shock win over Australia’s Zac Dunn in Melbourne.
Farrell v Davies
Only Sir Alex Ferguson has made more enemies on Merseyside than Ohara Davies.
The Hackney fighter said of the city:
“Anyone from Liverpool can get whooped. They brought Derry Mathews, now Tom Farrell is going to get whooped, so I’m just waiting to see who they are going to bring next.”
However, he faces a very difficult task in the unbeaten Tom Farrell.
The WBA international super lightweight champion will fight in front of his home crowd and is 10/3 outsider.
Davies lost his unbeaten record last time out against Scotland’s Josh Taylor. He will be looking to get back on track immediately here.
At 1/5 to win, he’ll have to cope with a deluge of boos, but should be good enough to take the strap.
