Could Xabi Alonso usurp Thomas Tuchel for vacant Bayern hotseat?

Former Liverpool ace Xabi Alonso could soon be announced as Carlo Ancelotti’s successor at Bayern Munich, according to our odds.

The German giants parted ways with Ancelotti on Thursday afternoon, and we’ve responded by making the Spaniard just 10/1 to take over at the Allianz Arena.

The World Cup and Champions League winner announced earlier this week of his intention to get involved in management.

Could his first foray into the dugout be with the club he served at from 2014 to 2017?

His main competition comes from ex-Borussia Dortmund boss Thomas Tuchel.

The 44-year-old is without a club since leaving Signal Iduna Park in the summer, and odds of 5/4 suggest he could make a contentious switch to Dortmund’s fierce league rivals.

Progressive young coach Julian Nagelsmann is 5/1 to leave his post at Hoffenheim for a shot with the Bundesliga champions.

We also go 6/1 on Willy Sagnol, while it’s 16/1 that Liverpool’s Jurgen Klopp makes an unlikely return to his homeland.
