Game over for Kane? Lukaku shortest price yet for Golden Boot

The Premier League returns for Gameweek 4 following the international break. But it may already be too late for Harry Kane and co to catch Romelu Lukaku for the Golden Boot.

The Manchester United number nine netted three times during August, and is now the 9/4 favourite to claim the accolade for the first time.

Harry Kane endured another frustrating start to the year, failing to score in the opening month of the season for the third successive campaign.

It means the Tottenham Hotspur ace has drifted to 4/1.

The England international has won the award for the last two seasons, and began this term as 3/1 favourite.

Lukaku was next up at 4s, but his blistering start to life under Jose Mourinho at Old Trafford has seen his odds tumble.

Chopped into 5/2 after the opening weekend of the season, the former Everton man looks ominously priced now at 9/4.

And the odds suggest this is already shaping up to be a two-horse race.

Chelsea’s Alvaro Morata is third in the betting, but at 7/1 he’s some way adrift of the two favourites.

Manchester City duo Sergio Aguero and Gabriel Jesus are each an 8/1 shot, ahead of Arsenal’s Alexandre Lacazette at 11/1.

Liverpool’s Sadio Mane – who netted three times in August – is the only other player given a realistic chance by our traders at 14/1.
