ITV Racing Tips: Chemical Charge to turn on the power at Kempton

There’s a bumper ITV Racing card to get stuck into this weekend with no fewer than nine live races to feast your eyes on.

With action from Haydock, Sandown and Ascot there’s plenty of options available from a punting perspective.

The best of the racing comes from Haydock where the Sprint Stakes will be contested over 6f.

Let’s get cracking and have a look at another exciting line-up…

NAP – Chemical Charge – 14:05, Kempton

After landing last week’s NAP with a favourite we’re going for the same approach here.

Chemical Charge is tried and tested on the all-weather surface and brings some handy form into this Group 3 match-up.

He recorded a convincing 2¾l win at Musselburgh last time out.

And he finished ahead of the likes of Dartmouth, Muntahaa and Wings of Desire in the Hardwicke Stakes at Royal Ascot in June.

Up against Midterm, who is yet to win over 1m4f, we think the five-year-old should do the business for us again this week.

NB – My Reward – 16:10, Haydock

This is a horse that is always there or thereabouts.

In his last five runs he’s recorded finishes of 1-5-4-2-1.

More interesting is that in the three defeats that he has suffered, My Reward has always been within 1½l of the winner.

He won’t worry about the threat of softer ground either.

Other contenders may have claims thanks to the handicap.

But even at top-weight, we’re expecting the five-year-old’s class to show.

Lively Longshot – Tasleet, 14:25, Haydock

Rain is due at Haydock.

And that spells bad news for market-leader Harry Angel.

So instead we’re opting for a horse with a bit of class who won’t mind the conditions.

It’s Tasleet who gets the nod for the Sprint Cup.

He has a solid record this season including an impressive victory in the Group 2 Clipper Logistic Stakes at York.

A 10l defeat to Harry Angel at Newmarket is the only blot on his copybook.

And given the four-year-old’s classy form through the rest of the season, it’s probably fair to say that was a one off.

With Jim Crowley in the saddle, who boasts a hat-trick of Group 1 successes this season, we’re confident of Tasleet’s chances here.
