More punters backing Arsenal relegation than top four spot

If things weren’t already bad enough for Arsene Wenger, we can reveal that more Ladbrokes punters have backed Arsenal to be relegated from the Premier League this season, than make the Top Four.

The Gunners have lost two of their opening three fixtures and already find themselves six points off league leaders Man United.

That could so easily have been three defeats, too, considering how lucky they were to bag the win against Leicester on the opening night.

The North London club are never quite far from a meltdown of some kind considering their proclivity for going through terrible spells of form. However, this can only be described as a new low.

Fans are already starting to turn on Arsene Wenger again, and 12/1 says he’s the first Premier League manager to leave his post this season.

Alex Apati of Ladbrokes said: “Leicester achieved the unthinkable two years ago by winning the league at 5000/1, but punters are backing Arsenal to do something just as remarkable this campaign. And the Gunners are now 300/1 to find themselves in next season’s Championship.”

We’re sure it won’t actually come to that and Arsenal will turn it around eventually. There’s too much class and quality to be left hovering around the relegation zone for long.
