Billy Davies favourite to replace Pedro Caixinha at Rangers

Billy Davies has emerged as the front-runner to replace sacked Rangers manager Pedro Caixinha, according to our odds.

Davies is 9/2 to be appointed at Ibrox. The 53-year-old started his playing career with Rangers before managerial spells with Motherwell, Preston, Derby County and Nottingham Forest.

Alex McLeish is also in contention to return for a second spell at Rangers at 5/1. McLeish led the club to two league titles and the Scottish Cup twice from 2001 to 2006.

David Macdonald of Ladbrokes said: “Billy Davies is the name on many lips but the shortlist suggests he’s no shoo-in for the job. We’ll be watching to see if any of the inked candidates come in for any support in the market. We also think there are one or two candidates who may quickly become favorites should they get some fan support.”

Rangers are currently fourth in the Ladbrokes Premiership. They’ve only won one of their last five games.
