Arsenal v Tottenham: High-scoring but even affair on the cards

The season’s first North London derby kicks off the Premier League action on Saturday lunchtime. Arsenal have home advantage, but Tottenham Hotspur sit four points above them. And we think it’ll be a close run affair.

Three of the past four meetings have finished level, meaning a Draw looks the best call in the Match Betting at 5/2, with a Gunners win 11/8 and 9/5 on offer for a Spurs victory.

However, with none of the pair’s last 19 Head-to-Heads ending goalless, a Score Draw looks the better call at 16/5.

Goals are definitely on the cards when these sides meet. Five of the pair’s last seven meetings have produced two or more goals after the interval, meaning Second Half: Over 1.5 Goals looks good value at 3/4. Especially so with Spurs having scored after the break in nine of their 11 Prem games this term.

However, it’s Gooners who’ve generally had more to cheer in the early stages of this fixture. Arsene Wenger’s men have led at the half-hour mark in four of their last 10 clashes with Spurs. Arsenal to lead after 30 minutes could prove a savvy bet at 11/4.

So, goals look a sure thing. But who’s grabbing the glory?

For starters, you can’t look past Harry Kane. Tottenham’s golden boy has bagged six goals in as many meetings with Arsenal, closing out the scoring in three of those. The prolific marksman has scored 11 in his last 10 games for club and country. He’s 21/20 to score anytime, but we prefer him to be Last Goalscorer at 10/3.

As for Arsenal, Aaron Ramsey could be a value selection. The Wales international has his shooting boots on right now, finding the net in two of the Gunners’ last three games. He’s 14/5 to get his name on the scoresheet on derby day.
