ITV Racing Tips: Sir Dancealot can dash to victory at Doncaster

There’s a mixed afternoon of racing on ITV4 this Saturday, with flat action from Doncaster and four jump contests from Wincanton.

The highlight of the day comes from Somerset where 18 runners will go to post to contest the Badger Ales Trophy Handicap.

As always, we’ve got a top tip for that one – and all the other races across the card – with our ITV Racing Tips…

NAP – Sir Dancealot – 14:05, Doncaster

In what looks to be a day of long-price favourites and wide-open races, Sir Dancealot should provide some solace over 6f at Doncaster.

David Elsworth’s mount returned to winning ways over 7f here last month and looks to be a worthy favourite after landing the Listed Rockingham Stakes over this distance last year.

The ground shouldn’t be an issue for the three-year-old whose class should shine through. With the slight reduction in trip providing no worry, Sir Dancelot is our NAP of the day.

NB – Tara View – 13:50, Wincanton

With 21 runners set to go to post in this Mares’ Handicap Hurdle, there’s plenty of interesting prices on offer for potential winners.

However, we think we’ve found the answer with Tara View.

Alan King’s six-year-old enjoyed an impressive novice campaign over hurdles last season, winning four of her six races.

Only a Grade 2 contest at Newbury stunted her progression during 2016-17.

And back down in Class 2 company here, we think she holds the key up against an array of opponents who are unproven or inconsistent at this level.

Lively Longshot – Yala Enki – 15:35, Wincanton

Yala Enki has fantastic each-way claims in Wincanton’s feature race – the Badger Ales Trophy Handicap Chase.

This renewal will be the seven-year-old’s season reappearance, but even so, we think he holds excellent claims over 3m 1f.

He was a consistent winner at Class 2 level last season and looks capable of making the step up.

The trip suits, the ground is fine and all the signs point towards a solid run for Venetia Williams’ mount.
