Joe McFadden emerges as new Strictly favourite

Joe McFadden has leapt over the competition to become the new favourite to win Strictly Come Dancing this year.

Our traders have slashed the Holby City actor’s odds in the outright winner market to 9/4 after a flurry of bets.

With only three weeks of the show left, McFadden may have got his timing spot on.

Debbie McGee (5/2) and Alexandra Burke (7/2) look set to be his main challengers for the Glitterball trophy. No one outside the leading trio has odds shorter than 6/1.

Alex Apati of Ladbrokes said: “Sudden interest in Joe has seen the odds at the head of the market change in a heartbeat, and it looks as though the Scot may have peaked at just the right time.”
