Zlatan Ibrahimovic could be a surprise inclusion in Sweden’s World Cup squad next summer, according to our traders.

Sweden stood firm on Monday evening to beat Italy in the play-offs and seal their place in Russia.

Ibrahimovic retired from international football after Euro 2016. But the chance to make his mark in football’s biggest tournament could tempt the 36-year-old to return.

He’s now priced at evens to be included in Sweden’s 23-man squad (was 8/1).

The striker has yet to play for United this season after suffering a serious injury in April. He’s expected to return to training next month, giving him plenty of time to impress Sweden boss Janne Anderson.

Alex Apati of Ladbrokes said: “Ibra looks set for a return to first-team action in the new year and our traders reckon that leaves the big man with plenty of time to prove himself good enough for a spot on Sweden’s plane.”
