Chelsea v Newcastle: Blues to rack up the goals against Magpies

| 01.12.2017

Stamford Bridge has not been a happy destination for Newcastle United. The Magpies have lost each of their last four visits to Chelsea, conceding 12 times and scoring just once.

We’re likely to see more of the same from Saturday’s encounter.

Antonio Conte’s men have taken 16 points from their previous six Premier League games. By contrast, their visitors have managed a single point in their last five.

In the Match Betting, a Chelsea win looks safe at 1/4. Meanwhile, there’s 9/2 on offer for the Draw, and 12/1 for a shock Newcastle win.

However, with skinny odds on the hosts simply to win, the best value lies elsewhere.

Having won each of the last four home meetings with the Magpies by a minimum of two goals, the Chelsea -1 handicap could prove a savvy bet at 8/11.

Wednesday’s 1-0 defeat of Swansea City aside, the West London club have tended to batter teams when they’ve won this season. They’ve outscored West Bromwich Albion and Qarabag either side of half-time in recent weeks.

By contrast, the Magpies have lost both halves in two of their three previous games. Chelsea to Win Both Halves looks a value bet at 23/10.

One man who might well find the net is Willian. The Brazilian has scored in each of the past two meetings between these clubs.

He also goes into this game in good form, following three goals in as many games. You can back the former Shakhtar Donetsk man to Score Anytime at 29/10.

Finally, if you’re looking for a lively longshot, you could do far worse than backing a 4-0 victory for Chelsea.

Conte’s charges have won two of their previous four matches by that scoreline, and the hosts are 11/1 to repeat the feat.
