Gareth Bale could be on the verge of a dramatic return to Tottenham Hotspur.

Since moving to Real Madrid in 2013, the Welshman has been the subject of constant speculation regarding a possible return to the Premier League.

Manchester United have always looked like Bale’s most likely destination at 4/1.

But now the Red Devils share that price with Tottenham.

Spurs have been slashed to 4/1 to sign their former star amid reports that Los Blancos have set an asking price for the three-time Champions League winner.

However, the North Londoners could lack the financial clout to launch a move for Bale.

Davinson Sanchez is the Lilywhites’ most expensive player at £42m.

The La Liga giants will likely want at least treble that fee if the Welshman is to swap the Bernabeu for new White Hart Lane.

That puts Manchester City in the driving seat.

Pep Guardiola’s side have the cash to sign any player in the world and as such are favourites to land the winger at odds of 7/2.

Alex Apati of Ladbrokes said: “Plenty think Bale has some unfinished business to attend to at Spurs and the latest odds shift suggests he could be returning very soon.”
