Premier League Picks: Our best bets for Saturday’s 3pm clashes

The Premier League action comes thick and fast on Saturday, with eight games in total.
Keep an eye out for our standalone previews of the TV games, but right now we’re giving you our top tips for the day’s six 3pm kick-offs.
It’s the bow for two new bosses. Alan Pardew faces his old club Crystal Palace in his first game as West Bromwich Albion boss, while new Everton gaffer Sam Allardyce leads his Toffees side into battle against Huddersfield Town.
Here are our picks for those games, and the afternoon’s other clashes…
West Brom v Crystal Palace
This is likely to be a tight, cagey affair. Palace haven’t scored away in the league since April, while the Baggies have also averaged less than a goal a game.
In addition, only one of the last five meetings between these sides have seen both teams net. Both Teams to Score – No looks a safe bet at 4/5.
However, with the Eagles poor away record, West Brom to Win to Nil could prove the best bet at 11/4.
One man who could bring Pardew joy in his first game is Salomon Rondon. He scored the winner at Selhurst Park last season, and is 9/5 to Score Anytime.
Everton v Huddersfield
The Toffees gave their fans a sweet treat in midweek, with a 4-0 tonking of West Ham United at Goodison Park. More of the same is likely against a Terriers side who’ve lost four successive away games – conceding 14 and scoring zero.
Everton to Win looks good at 7/10, but the best value appears to lie in the handicap markets. With the hosts rejuvenated and Huddersfield leaky on their travels, Everton -1 seems generous at 2/1.
Wednesday’s game saw Wayne Rooney roll back the years with a stunning hat-trick. His first strike broke the deadlock – the fourth time the 32-year-old has done so this season. First Goalscorer: Rooney could prove popular at 9/2.
Brighton & Hove Albion v Liverpool
The Reds have been racking up one eye-catching win after another on their travels. They’ve won three of their last five away games by a margin of three or more goals, including a 7-0 Champions League mauling of NK Maribor.
Brighton are winless in four at home, but have scored in three of those. Liverpool to Win and Over 3.5 Goals is a good call at 27/10, while Liverpool to Win Both Halves could also be worth a flutter at 11/4.
In the Anytime Scorer market, it’s all about Mohamed Salah. Once again, the Premier League’s top scorer is odds-against to find the net at 23/20. We think that’s cracking value.
Watford v Tottenham Hotspur
In short, we’re expecting goals, goals and more goals.
The past two meetings have seen the net bulge a total of nine times. Watford head into this game having scored 11 times in their previous four games, while Spurs boast the firepower of Harry Kane, Dele Alli and Erik Lamela.
Both Teams to Score is a safe option at 4/6, though we prefer the look of Over 3.5 Goals at 8/5.
Hornets ace Troy Deeney has a habit of stinging the top sides. He’s already bagged goals against Arsenal and Manchester United at Vicarage Road this season. It’s 12/5 he nets in front of the Watford faithful once again.
Leicester City v Burnley
Sean Dyche’s men have been away-day specialists this term, but face a Foxes side with a solid home record. That means another Clarets victory on the road isn’t a sure-fire thing, but the Double Chance: Burnley or Draw does look good at Evens.
The visitors have the division’s joint-third best defensive record, conceding just 11. Add the fact that two of the previous three meetings have ended 1-0 (with one win apiece), and Under 2.5 Goals looks a sure thing at 4/6.
Stoke City v Swansea City
The evergreen Peter Crouch will be looking to score for the fifth game this season, and boasts an enviable record against the Swans.
The Macclesfield-born beanpole has bagged four goals in 10 league meetings against them, and is 9/5 to Score Anytime in the Potteries.
If visitors’ boss Paul Clement wants to ease the pressure on him, Swansea’s away form desperately needs to improve. They’ve lost four in a row on the road, scoring just once. Stoke to Win to Nil looks generous at 2/1.
