Chelsea now joint-favourites to sign Arsenal’s Oliver Giroud

Arsenal striker Olivier Giroud could be in line for a surprise move to Chelsea this month, according to our traders.

Chelsea have searched far and wide for a striker this month. Their chances of signing Edin Dzeko from Roma have slipped from 1/10 to 1/2. Now they could turn their sights to Giroud.

The 31-year-old is now 7/2 to join Chelsea.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang’s likely arrival at Arsenal will push further Giroud down the pecking order.

But Borussia Dortmund could rival Chelsea for his signature. The German club are also 7/2 to bring him in as a replacement for Aubameyang.

Alex Apati of Ladbrokes said: “Giroud has been linked with a move away from the Emirates all month, and it now looks to be a straight two-horse race between Dortmund and Chelsea for his signature.”
