Rumour Reel Round-Up: Have Arsenal found a Sanchez replacement?

Published:

The transfer window’s really starting to heat up now.

Deals for Philippe Coutinho, Ross Barkley and Cenk Tosun have all gone through in the last few days. And there should be plenty more to come.

We’ve taken a look at four of today’s juiciest rumours.

Cristian Pavon

With Alexis Sanchez now just 1/4 to join Manchester City this month, Arsenal have started to look for a replacement.

Boca Junior’s Cristian Pavon could be their man. The 21-year-old has two Argentina caps and Arsenal are said to be ready to meet his £27m release clause. They might need to move quickly though. City, Liverpool and Juventus are understood to have scouted him too.

Kevin Strootman

Liverpool could use some of the Coutinho money to sign Roma ace Kevin Strootman. Jurgen Klopp is understood to see the midfield general as a direct replacement for Emre Can.

Strootman has struggled with injuries during his time in Italy, which means Roma could be open to selling him.

Scott Arfield

West Ham United believe they can tempt Scott Arfield to leave Burnley this month. Arfield only has six months to run on his current contract and the Hammers are ready to offer him a better deal.

Arfield’s Premier League experience makes him especially attractive to David Moyes. West Ham are reportedly willing to pay up to £2m for the 29-year-old.

Aleksandar Mitrovic

One player who may well be leaving the Premier League is Newcastle United’s Aleksander Mitrovic. The powerful striker hasn’t started a league game for the Magpies this season.

That’s unlikely to change if Rafa Benitez brings in the striker he desperately wants. Bordeaux need more firepower in attack and could offer him an escape route.
