Rumour Reel Round-Up: Is PSG ace finally heading for Man United?
Published:
So far the January 2018 transfer window has already seen two of the 10 most expensive signings in history made. And the big-name buys look set to continue in the coming days.
We’ve had a look at four more rumours which are emerging (and re-emerging!)…
Andre Silva
Wolverhampton Wanderers are running away with it in the Championship, topping the table by a whopping 12 points. And the ambitious club could add another huge name to their ranks in Euro 2016 winner Silva.
Reports suggest that the Molineux club have already had a £34m bid rejected for the AC Milan hitman, but that it doesn’t signal the end of their interest.
Having struggled since arriving at the San Siro from FC Porto last summer, he could cut his time in Italy short. And with Wolves heading for the Premier League, the Black Country club could pull off a stunning January coup.
Lucas Moura
The 25-year-old has been linked with a move to Manchester United since his time as a teenage prodigy at Sao Paulo. But it’s starting to look like the Brazilian could finally be heading to Old Trafford.
Sources are claiming that the winger has agreed terms with the Red Devils, with the likely fee believed to be £35m. Having struggled for game-time at current club Paris Saint-Germain this term, he seems set for a move to the Theatre of Dreams.
Malcom
Sunday’s defeat to Nottingham Forest has left Arsenal fans in a dismal mood. But the latest rumours could restore some of that cheer, with the club believed to be in talks for the signing of Malcom.
The young Brazilian has been tearing it up for Bordeaux in Ligue 1, with seven goals and four assists in 18 games. In a season which seems to be going nowhere for the Gunners, this potential buy could be a real catalyst for the North Londoners.
Khouma Babacar
Babacar has been motoring along for Fiorentina this season, with the powerful striker netting in five of his last 12 games. And that form has caught the eye of Crystal Palace.
Boss Roy Hodgson has improved the side since his arrival, but they remain the league’s second-lowest scorers and aren’t yet free of the relegation dogfight.
With less than 18 months left on his contract, Babacar could also be picked up for a bargain sum. Transfermarkt.co.uk estimates his market value at £9m. If Palace secure his services, he could be worth far more than that to them.
