Rumour Reel Round-Up: Thursday 4th January

| 04.01.2018

With just over three weeks of the January transfer window remaining, clubs are beginning to make eyes at potential targets.

Everton have already started their business with the impending signing of Cenk Tosun from Besiktas.

However, the Turkish ace may not be the only big European name on the move this month.

Here are four more players who could be set for pastures new in January…

Leon Goretzka

Bayern Munich have joined the race for the coveted Schalke midfielder Leon Goretzka.

That spells bad news for Liverpool who had previously been considered favourites.

The 22-year-old has scored six goals from 12 games for Germany and has impressed domestically this term.

Although he’s available for free in the summer, Bayern could pay a premium to snatch the talented youngster from under the nose of Reds manager Jurgen Klopp.

Dani Ceballos

While Liverpool have been undercut in the race to sign Goretzka, they could yet seal a move for Real Madrid star Dani Ceballos.

It has been reported in the Daily Express that the 21-year-old midfielder has told Los Blancos that he wants to move to Anfield.

The Merseysiders are short of top-quality players in the central-midfield area.

A move for Ceballos would be considered something of a coup if Klopp can pull off a deal.

Lucas Moura

Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho hinted recently that he needs reinforcements to be able to keep-up with Manchester City.

Could Paris-Saint Germain star Lucas Moura be one of those on his wishlist?

The 25-year-old almost joined the club in 2012 but opted for a move to the French capital instead.

After making just six appearances so far this season, the Brazilian has been given the go-ahead to leave PSG.

United are at the front of the queue.

Mathieu Debuchy

Wolverhampton Wanderers are already preparing for life in the Premier League next season.

Nuno Espirito Santo’s side are 12 points clear of second-place in the Championship.

They could add top-level experience to their ranks with the signing of Mathieu Debuchy.

The Frenchman’s time at Arsenal has been interrupted by injury and he could now start afresh somewhere new.

Wolves would need to pay around £14m to prize the ex-Newcastle United man from the Emirates Stadium.
