Martinez among front-runners to replace Wenger at Arsenal

Published:

Ladbrokes football traders have slashed the odds on Roberto Martinez replacing Arsene Wenger as Arsenal manager.

The Belgian boss’ price has fallen from 33/1 to just 10/1 this week as reports claim Arsenal chiefs are drawing up a list of potential summer replacements.

Punters are seemingly expecting the former Everton manager to return to the Premier League after this summer’s World Cup.

And were he to do so, Thierry Henry is odds-on at 4/5 to return to the Emirates as his assistant. While 33/1 says the France legend replaces Wenger in the dugout himself.

Alex Apati of Ladbrokes said: “According to the odds, Wenger’s time at Arsenal is all but up – and the biggest move we’ve seen in the last few weeks concerns Martinez who looks increasingly likely to take over from the Frenchman at the Emirates.”
