Champions League tips: Can Neymar-less PSG turn it around v Real Madrid?

Edinson Cavani odds PSG

Paris Saint-Germain have a big job on their hands when they face the might of Real Madrid at Parc Des Princes tonight.

The Ligue 1 giants are 3-1 down going into the second leg of this Champions League knockout tie. And Les Parisiens will be pulling out all the stops to complete a remarkable turnaround.

PSG are 5/6, with Real Madrid 11/5 for the win, and the Draw available at 3/1.

The French outfit were on the end of another miracle comeback last season after Barcelona came from 4-0 down in the first leg.

The simple question here is, can PSG beat Real? And the simple answer is yes. Since their Qatari takeover, they have lost just once in the Champions League at home in 27 games.

They’re unbeaten on home soil in all competitions since 20 March, 2016. And have won 19 consecutive games there this term.

In addition, Los Blancos have an iffy away record in comparison. Tottenham have already put them to the sword this season at Wembley. And they’ve also lost to Atletico Madrid, Juventus, and Wolfsburg in the last three years.

PSG to qualify is currently 11/4. If Unai Emery’s side are to win, they’ll have to do it without Neymar, though.

The Brazilian is out for the season after injuring his ankle two weeks ago. That means a start for Angel Di Maria.

The ex-Real ace will be keen on putting in a big performance against his former employers. He’s 7/5 to score Anytime.

However, if PSG are to turn this around, the man they are counting on will be Edinson Cavani.

The Uruguayan striker has a reputation for choking when it really matters. But there’s little doubt that he does score some big, big goals. He’s got six goals already in the competition.

The former Napoli forward is 3/1 to be First Goalscorer, and 8/11 to find the net Anytime.

If PSG are to succeed, they’ll need to stop in-form world player of the year, Cristiano Ronaldo. Real’s form this season may be difficult to pin down, but Ronaldo has started to fire at just the right time.

The Portugal captain has scored 14 goals in his last eight games. He’s also top scorer in the UCL with 11 goals to his name.

He’s 4/1 to score first, and 23/20 to find the net Anytime.
