Eight Man United players who could be on Mourinho’s not wanted list
Published:
Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho reportedly wants to get rid of eight first-team players this summer. So our traders have gone to work and priced up who’s most likely to be sent packing from Old Trafford.
At the top of the pile, we’ve been forced to suspend betting on Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Matteo Darmian.
The pair have barely featured for the club this season and both look set for a Red Devils exit.
Luke Shaw has borne the brunt of Mourinho’s criticism of late. The left-back is odds-on at 1/5 to be off in the summer, with 5/2 saying that he rejoins his former club Southampton.
Elsewhere, Marouane Fellaini and Daley Blind are also odds-on to leave at 1/3 and 1/2, while Anthony Martial and Chris Smalling can be backed at even-money.
The latter duo have been in and out of the team at Old Trafford this term and could be about to move elsewhere to nail down a regular first-team spot.
England centre-half Phil Jones could be the final name on the manager’s not wanted list and is 5/2 to depart from United in the summer.
Alex Apati of Ladbrokes said: “Jose has it all to do in the summer to compete with City next season, but it looks as though he’ll turn his attention to departures before bringing anyone in.”
