The Shape Of Water and Three Billboards nearly neck and neck for Oscar

Published:

The Shape Of Water is at the subject of a late gamble to win the Best Picture award at the Oscars, according to our entertainment traders.

Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri still finds itself at the top of the betting with odds of 11/10.

However, an eleventh-hour gamble is starting to develop on The Shape of Water, which has seen its odds backed into 6/4 (from 13/8) in the last 24 hours.

Gary Oldman (1/25) and Frances McDormand (1/12) remain the front runners by a country mile to win their respective nominations, and it’s also odds-on at just 1/10 that Guillermo del Toro lands the Best Director gong.

Jessica Bridge of Ladbrokes said: “Three Billboards was edging away as the clear favourite, but money is coming for The Shape of Water, leaving us with a proper two-horse race to land the Best Picture Oscar on Sunday.”
