Real Madrid v Bayern Munich: More goals to rain in Spain

Real Madrid odds

Real Madrid host Bayern Munich at the Santiago Bernabeu tonight with a place in the Champions League final at stake.

The La Liga giants are 2-1 up from the first-leg in Munich and will know Bayern need to score at least two goals in Madrid.

Real are 11/10 to win over 90 minutes. Bayern are 21/10 to win, with the draw available at 14/5.

Bayern actually faced the exact same scenario at the quarter-final stage of the competition last year. Der FCB lost the first-leg at home 2-1. And then turned it around at the Bernabeu, winning 2-1 to take it to extra-time

However, despite a brave performance, Bayern collapsed in the following 30 minutes, losing 4-2 on aggregate. Can the Bundesliga champions produce a similar performance here?

They’ll have to do so without a number of stars. Arjen Robben, Manuel Neuer, Jerome Boateng, Arturo Vidal, and Kingsley Coman are all absent.

Jupp Heynckes will still be able to field a strong starting XI. But will they be good enough to get a result against the defending champions?

Zinedine Zidane isn’t without his own issues. Dani Carvajal is definitely out. And Raphael Varane is also a doubt. However, one of Gareth Bale or Karim Benzema could return alongside Cristiano Ronaldo up top. Marco Asensio could also start ahead of Isco.

There will surely be goals at the Bernabeu. Six of the last nine clashes between the pair since 2012 have seen three or more goals, with five of the nine games seeing both teams score.

Over 2.5 Goals is 2/5, but combine it with a Real win and it’s 13/8. Real to win and Both Teams To Score is 21/10.

Ronaldo has an incredible 15 goals in 11 UCL games. And the World Player of the Year is always Real’s go-to man. He’s 11/4 to score first, and 4/6 to find the net Anytime.

But Asensio – should he start – has been incredibly dangerous in cameo appearances. The 22-year-old is 5/2 to score Anytime.

Bayern tend to play fluid football. But the Bavarians will be mindful of how poor Real are at set-pieces. Sergio Ramos is back for Los Blancos, but they’ll still be vulnerable.

Javi Martinez will be an aerial danger for Jupp Heynckes’ side. The Spain international is 5/1 to be an Anytime Goalscorer. Mats Hummels is also 13/2 in the same market.
