Cristiano Ronaldo’s bicycle kick against Juventus on Tuesday night was an incredible goal. But for one speculative punter it was an extra special strike.

That’s because it helped one of our online customers land over £166,000 from a £10 stake.

The Portuguese’s effort to give Real Madrid a 3-0 victory over Juventus formed part of a 17-fold accumulator spread over two weeks to give our mystery bettor a life-changing sum.

Our punter started their bet off with eight international matches and needed two injury-time goals from Marcos Balados of Chile and Nikolay Bodurov of Bulgaria to keep the slip standing.

Ronaldo came to the rescue here too, with an injury-time double helping Portugal to beat Egypt.

The acca then turned to his week’s Champions League ties.

And after correctly predicting the outcome of all four matches, it was down to last night’s Europa League action.

Sure enough, Arsenal, Atletico Madrid, Lazio and RB Leipzig all did the business on Thursday night to ensure the anonymous punter’s foresight was rewarded with a £166,853.40 payday.

Alex Apati of Ladbrokes said: “There are still a couple of months to play out but we doubt we’ll see a win quite as substantial as this for the rest of the season.”

Not bad for a £10 bet, eh?
