Punters backing Bellew over Haye ahead of Saturday’s rematch

David Haye isn’t enjoying much love from punters ahead of Saturday night’s rematch with Tony Bellew, according to our traders.

Despite being the 4/9 favourite to exact revenge, we can report that only 31% of all bets placed on the fight so far have been in favour of the Hayemaker.

Bellew (7/4), meanwhile, is almost twice as popular, with 61% of all bets going on Bomber, while the remaining 8% of punters have backed the draw (25/1).

The Scouse fighter emerged triumphant when the pair met at the 02 Arena in March last year.

A subsequent rematch set for December 2017 was postponed when it emerged that Haye had injured his arm in training.

Now the two fighters are set to go again in a bout which could decide the pair’s boxing futures.

Alex Apati of Ladbrokes said: “The odds say Haye will just edge this one but if the bets we’ve taken are anything to go by, there’s every chance Bellew makes it two in two against his rival.”
