Portugal v Morocco tips: Ronaldo and co. to edge tight clash

A one-man masterclass from Cristiano Ronaldo saw Portugal grab a point against Spain in a 3-3 thriller last time out.

But we could see a much tighter game as Selecao das Quinas face a very solid Morocco side.

The Atlas Lions conceded a single goal in eight qualifying games. However, their stats are less impressive at the other end. They’ve failed to score in five of their last nine competitive games, including a 1-0 loss to Iran in their World Cup opener.

It’s 8/13 for Under 2.5 Goals, while Portugal to Win to Nil is 6/4. Fernando Santos’ men did just that in seven of their 10 qualifiers.

It’s no surprise to see Cristiano Ronaldo at 4/5 as the favourite in the Anytime Scorer odds.

He’s followed by 9/5 shot Andre Silva. The AC Milan star has found the net 12 times in his 24 caps to date. He’s also closed out the scoring in six of those matches, and is 9/2 as Last Goalscorer in Moscow today.

Morocco’s most-likely scorers are Ayoub El Kaabi and Khalid Boutaib at 14/5 apiece.

In the Correct Score market, we make it 9/2 for Portugal to win 1-0, while Fernando Santos’ men are 6/1 for a 2-0 victory.

As for the match betting, the European side are odds-on at 7/10. Meanwhile, it’s 5/2 for the Draw and there’s 9/2 for Morocco to cause an upset.
