Could Georginio Wijnaldum be set to leave Liverpool?

Liverpool fans will be very excited about the club’s transfer business so far this summer.

Naby Keita and Fabinho add real quality to midfield and give Jurgen Klopp plenty of options.

But one man who may not be so thrilled about their arrivals is Georginio Wijnaldum.

The Netherlands international already had to compete with Jordan Henderson, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, James Milner and Adam Lallana for a starting spot in midfield.

Now that Keita and Fabinho are also pushing for a place, it’s hard to see Wijnaldum as more than a squad player.

Reports suggest he’s ready to move on for regular football after two years at Anfield. Fenerbahce have emerged as a potential destination.

The Turkish side are in the market for a midfielder after missing out on Jack Wilshere. And Wijnaldum would have the chance to be reunited with his former PSV manager Philip Cocu in Istanbul.

It’s a move that may suit all parties. Liverpool would recoup some money after spending big on the new signings. Wijnaldum would play regularly in a Champions League side. And Fenerbahce would bring in a very handy player.
