Keylor’s a Keeper: Will Man City bring in Real Madrid’s Navas?

Keylor Navas

Manchester City could reportedly turn to Real Madrid’s Keylor Navas to sort out their goalkeeping shortage.

Claudio Bravo is set to be out of action for a while after getting injured in training. That leaves the champions without any proven back-up to number one Ederson.

If City want a back-up goalkeeper who can handle the pressure of playing for a top team, they won’t do much better. Navas has helped the La Liga giants to win three successive Champions League titles. City are 5/1 favourites to be crowned champions of Europe this term.

The Costa Rica international looks set to lose his place in the Madrid team to new arrival Thibaut Courtois. City could take advantage by bringing him in on an emergency loan.

Pep Guardiola’s side have started the season very impressively. After swatting aside Chelsea in the Community Shield, they’ve beaten Arsenal and Huddersfield Town in league action.

However, an injury to Ederson could seriously derail them unless they get another ‘keeper in. Navas looks like the ideal solution.
