Scotland v Belgium tips: Red Devils to breeze past McLeish’s men?

Romelu Lukaku - Belgium

Hampden Park is the stage for tonight’s intriguing international friendly clash, as Scotland and Belgium face off for the first time since 2013.

The visitors will be looking to maintain the form which saw them reach the semi-finals of last summer’s World Cup. For Alex McLeish’s side, it’s a chance to claim a big scalp.

Match Odds

It’s the Red Devils who are firm favourites in the Match Betting at odds of 1/2. Meanwhile, a Scottish victory is available at 11/2, with the Draw at 14/5.

Each of the last three meetings between the sides have ended in victory for Belgium. And all by the same scoreline – 2-0. The visitors are 13/10 to Win to Nil, with another 2-0 Belgian victory priced at 11/2.

Meanwhile, we make it 29/10 for Roberto Martinez’s side to Win Both Halves.

Talking Tactics

Scotland are likely to play a conservative style, with a back four behind two holding midfielders.

Ryan Fraser and Johnny Russell can offer pace and creativity on the flanks, with Leigh Griffiths likely to lead the line alone.

The visitors have been pretty consistent with their 3-4-2-1 system under Martinez. The defensive trio of Vincent Kompany, Toby Alderweireld and Jan Vertonghen is second to none.

Meanwhile, the likes of Eden Hazard and Yannick Carrasco will look to get at the home defence.

Goalscorer Odds

For the home side, Griffiths represents the best chance of a goal. The Celtic man netted four times in World Cup qualification, and is 13/5 to Score Anytime here.

The visitors’ biggest goal threat could lie in Romelu Lukaku. The Manchester United ace is 21/20 Anytime, while it’s 16/5 the big Belgian nets Two or More Goals.

Meanwhile, wing wizard Hazard is 13/8 to net. And there’s 10/1 about Vincent Kompany – who netted a fierce strike against Scotland in 2012 – registering again.
