US Open tips: Djokovic, Sharapova and Federer return

The second week beckons as we edge towards the business end of the tournament.

Roger Federer has been on fire in the competition so far and faces another Aussie in the Last 16 after overcoming Nick Kyrgios.

The five-time US Open winner takes on John Millman with his opponent playing the best tennis of this career.

Millman took a set off The Swiss in their one and only match back in 2015, and this could be equally competitive.

The Arthur Ashe stages the clash where Federer is 1/25 for the win. His opponent is 10/1. However, the world number two is 1/7 for first set victory and go on to win the match.

Beforehand Novak Djokovic faces Joao Sousa, a man he’s beat in all four occasions they’ve met.

The current Wimbledon champ is 2/7 to win in straight sets. However, Sousa is 11/2 to cause a shock and win the first set.

It would be a surprise to see anything but a Federer v Djokovic quarter-final.

Maria Sharapova is into her second Grand Slam last 16 tie this year, following her run to the quarter-finals at the French Open.

The 31-year-old is 2/5 to advance past Carla Suarez Navarro.

Navarro is 2/1 to take the spoils having only won a single game of their six meetings dating back to 2013, but she did beat Jo Konta’s conquerer Caroline Garcia in the last round.

Madison Keys takes to court against Dominika Cibulkova later this afternoon.

The duo could put on a real show despite Keys coming through in straights in three of the four victories over her opponent.

Nonetheless, Cibulkova fought back from a set down against fourth seed Angelique Kerber and takes real momentum into this one.

Keys is 2/5 to make it five wins in five, Cibulkova is 2/1 to claim another big scalp.
