Eden Hazard gave us a lecture in how to perfect your craft against Cardiff City that even TED Talks would be envious of.
The Chelsea talisman was called perhaps the ‘best player in Europe’ by boss Maurizio Sarri following his three-goal master class on Saturday.
However, two hours after end of the game and 850 miles away from Stamford Bridge at the San Mames stadium, Real Madrid were getting taught a lesson of their own by Athletic Bilbao.

Hazard is the 2/1 joint-favourite to bag a move to the Santiago Bernabeu. The Belgian could be the missing piece they need to form another deadly attacking trident alongside club favourite Karim Benzema and Gareth Bale.
New boss Julen Lopetegui has begun his reign by giving Marco Asensio a deserved chance in the starting eleven, but after picking up only one La Liga trophy in the last six seasons something needs to change.
They signed Mariano to bolster their forward options, though it would be very un-Madrid like to not end up signing a ‘Galactico’ to put out a signal to the rest of Europe.
Hazard is now that guy!
Prime years
Despite going all the way to the final week of the World Cup in July the Chelsea number 10 has started the season on fire.
Two assists in his opening two games has been followed by five goals in three games guiding Chelsea to five straight wins.
There was a lot of talk at how long it would take Sarri to impose his ideas in West London. But it’s been Hazard that has made this his Chelsea side, none more so than the 4-1 victory over Cardiff last weekend.
At 27-years-old this is now the prime of his career. Asensio, Dani Ceballos and Mariano may yet still come good but Hazard is for the here and now and that’s what Madrid have been all about.
No I in Team – or Hazard
Ronaldo was all about goals and yes that’s won him a lot of trophies, but Hazard’s style could fit well into the current system under Lopetegui.
Bale will take on more responsibility as the club’s main man, which will give the Belgian captain the freedom to dictate in the final third.
A potential trio of Benzema, Bale and Hazard is mouth-watering! Hazard has 77 assists in 305 Chelsea appearances to date.
His ability to find the correct pass in the most decisive areas of the pitch, could be the key to the La Liga title returning to the Bernabeu.
