Huddersfield v Liverpool tips: Reds can make light work of Terriers

Jordan Henderson - Liverpool

Jurgen Klopp’s unbeaten Liverpool side continue their push for the Premier League title at the John Smith’s Stadium on Saturday.

Their opponents are a Huddersfield Town side yet to win in their first eight games, netting a measly four goals in the process.

Will this one go the way of the form-book?

Match Odds

The last time Huddersfield managed a goal against Liverpool was back in 1954, and it’s been nearly as long since they scored against anyone at home.

David Wagner’s men haven’t netted in their last six games in West Yorkshire, losing five.

Having suffered a pair of 3-0 losses to the Reds last season, it’s 3/10 for another Liverpool victory. The Draw is a 4/1 shot, with the Terriers 10/1 for a shock win.

With the hosts so poor in front of goal, the visitors look unlikely to concede. It’s 10/11 for Liverpool to Win to Nil. Meanwhile, a third successive 3-0 win over this opposition is 7/1.

Talking Tactics

The Anfield outfit have a winning 4-3-3 formula, and they don’t mess with it. The only question here is personnel.

Sadio Mane is 50/50 to be available following a hand injury, which could pave the way for Xherdan Shaqiri to start in the front three. In midfield, a trio of Georginio Wijnaldum, Jordan Henderson and Naby Keita looks likely.

Wagner has chopped and changed Huddersfield’s system a fair bit this season. But they’ve looked most solid playing a 4-2-3-1, with Jonathan Hogg and Philip Billing as the holding midfield duo.

Goalscorer Odds

Last season’s Prem Golden Boot winner Mohamed Salah could cause the Terriers plenty of problems. He heads the Anytime Goalscorer market at 5/6.

Roberto Firmino netted in both of last season’s meetings between the sides. The Brazilian ace is 11/8 Anytime, while he’s 9/2 to Score Two or More Goals.

Elsewhere, Shaqiri is 19/10 to open his Reds account. For Huddersfield, Laurent Depoitre and Steve Mounie are their most likely goal-getters at 7/2 apiece.
