What would Everton get if they brought in Samir Nasri?

The transfer window may be shut, but Everton are reportedly eyeing a move for Samir Nasri.

The former Arsenal and Manchester City playmaker is currently a free agent. However, he’s been out of action after being given an 18-month drugs ban.

His sentence ends next month, when he’d be able to start training with a club again.

Everton have ambitions of breaking into the top six. But they’ll need to bring in more quality if they’re going to do it. Adding Nasri to the squad could be a canny move.

Other than Gylfi Sigurdsson, Marco Silva doesn’t really have another creative midfielder to call upon. Nasri would help to supply the likes of Richarlison, Bernardo and Theo Walcott with service in the final third.

He can play in the number 10 role or on either flank. He even shone in central midfield during his time at Sevilla.

If Silva can get him back to anywhere near his best, the Toffees could get a bargain.

Nasri still has a few years of top-level football in him at 31-years-old. If he’s prepared to knuckle down and put the work in, a move to Goodison Park could suit both parties.

There have always been question marks about his attitude. But the Toffees could be getting a bargain if Silva can get him back to anywhere near his best.

Everton face Crystal Palace at home after the international break as 5/6 favourites.
